“Durga becomes angry, her face becoming dark as ink. Suddenly the goddess Kali springs from her forehead.” Kali is Durga’s rage, fury, and bloodlust unleashed onto the battlefield. “She roars loudly and leaps into battle where she tears demons apart with her hands and crushes them in her jaws.”
Illustration for the new issue of NEW REPUBLIC magazine, to accompany an article on Malcolm Gladwell’s book ‘David & Goliath: Underdogs, Misfits and the Art of Battling Giants’.
New Republic actually celebrated it’s 99th birthday last week, having first been published in New York in 1914. It was a real honour to be invited to contribute!

My piece for the official AMC 'THE WALKING DEAD' art show which opens at The Hero Complex Gallery in L.A tonight.
My illustration ‘Holy Light’ is inspired by a scene in S2E1 (‘What Lies Ahead’) - Rick leads his search party into a church and is confronted by a female walker wearing a mourning veil, the notice board reads ‘Revelation 16:17’, in which the Seventh Angel unleashes the apocalypse upon the Earth.
A limited edition run of prints, 95 standard and 45 variant, will be available at the gallery from Friday and online from Saturday.
The print is a 24”x36” 3 colour screen print on 100lb French Speckletone Kraft paper, expertly printed by Burlesque Of North America.
